Liner release that is too tight or too easy
Liner release is how hard the face comes off the liner. Too tight and the applicator stalls. Too easy and the matrix or the face lifts before you want it to.
Checks
- Peel at the speed and angle the applicator uses. A hand peel does not match a high-speed dispenser.
- Cold stock releases tighter. Let a cold roll warm up before you judge it.
- If the face tears instead of releasing, the release is too tight or the face is too weak for that die.
- A liner that falls off in the carton was over-released or stored too warm. Check the roll before you re-die the job.
